Welcome to the Sustainable Planning & Innovation in Construction & Engineering (SPICE) research Lab website. The research team at the SPICE lab focuses on on addressing sustainability-related challenges faced by architects, engineers, constructors, managers, and policymakers through innovative, data-driven solutions. Our interdisciplinary efforts span cutting-edge advancements in Science, Technology, and Engineering with broad and practical impact. We aim to enhance the sustainability and resilience of the built environment by integrating advanced technologies such as AI, BIM, digital twin technologies, robotics, and smart city infrastructure.
Our goal is to revolutionize the planning, design, construction, operation, and management of civil infrastructure systems to create a more sustainable and resilient future.
TheSPICE lab is directed by Dr. Amir Jafari at the Bert S. Turner Department of Construction Management at Louisiana State University. e welcome synergistic collaborations with public and private agencies, industry practitioners, and the academic community worldwide.
